Massive Attack will be in the US in October for Miami’s III Points festival, and have now announce East Coast dates around it. These will be their first shows here since the Mezzanine XXI tour in 2019. There are only four headline shows and all are opened by their old Bristol Wild Bunch crew mate dj Milo:October 17 – Atlanta @ Coca-Cola Roxy Theatre (tickets)
October 22 – Washington, DC @ The Anthem (tickets)
October 23 – Boston @ Roadrunner (tickets)
October 24 – NYC @ Forest Hills Stadium (tickets)
Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, July 19 at 10 AM local time.
Always known for their groundbreaking, thought-provoking visuals, Massive Attack say of the current tour: “Our new live show marks the most transgressive leap in the collaboration between 3D x United Visual Artists since 2003. By reverse engineering algorithms to expose content anomalies & recursive feedback loops, we seek to provoke a dialogue on the broken dream of the confident, empowered individual ‘self’, in the context of the global collapse of liberal democracies.”
No word yet on who will be joining the band onstage at US shows, but on their current European/UK tour it’s been regular collaborators Horace Andy, Young Fathers, and Cocteau Twins’ Elizabeth Fraser, who in addition to her three songs from Mezzanine is performing Tim Buckley’s “Song to the Siren,” which she made famous with This Mortal Coil back in 1983. Let’s hope Liz, Horace Andy and Young Fathers will also be on hand in the US.
Massive Attack’s summer UK/EU tour ends in their hometown of Bristol for a Climate Change benefit at Clifton Downs on August 25 with Killer Mike, Lankum, Sam Morton, and dj Milo. All dates are listed below.
